How difficult it is to forgive seventy times seven......or even once sometimes. It think that it is good, from a spiritual leadership perspective, to watch and guard over our own lives and the people's lives who we are entrusted to care for. After all, isn't that the heart of ministry? So, our hearts have to be right.

Where I think people generally do miss it, however, is when correction, and rebuke come from a wrong spirit. In our harsh world, kindness with meekness, has been replaced with an unloving approach. And I believe that the approach speaks louder than anything. If I trust someone who is offering advice and correction, then I am more willing to consider what they say. However, if they are unwittingly expressing an imbalance through their approach, I will be more concerned about that than their message. If they have hidden agenda, it will make it more difficult to receive what they have to say.

On the other side of the coin is that many Christians believe and hold deep convictions. So, it is important for us to understand exactly what the irritants are and why they are causing issues in our lives before we approach our brother. I think that If your heart is right "and" your brother's heart is right, it might be easier to work out the difficulties. In the end, it is best to walk away, if the only outcome is a bitter root. Sometimes, we have to leave room for God to work it out.

Well, just my two cents...... : )

Yes Steve. Let us "hold on to the ONE who hold us" .The society around us can be influenced with HIM alone. Let us be committed for that.

Wonderful reflection and teaching. Thanks for explaining that part of God's word so clearly. Indeed we need to be careful to forgive others all the time and mind our attitude to see how our heart is before God instead of examining our brothers attitude and life. Thank you for posting this!
